Ricky Balboa
Did I mention Mocha, SIL's orange and white adolescent tom who has been itching for a rumble with Ricky the rescued stray? Well, he apparently got his wish at 4 a.m. recently (notwithstanding that the both of them are supposed to be individually quarantined for their 'flu but why they were allowed to wander about in the house at night is a question only MIL and/or SIL can answer). Well, what can an upstart expect when he picks a fight with an experienced street brawler? To end up at the vet's, that's where, and that was exactly where Mocha ended up. Muahahah! Serves him right.
Although I understand that Mocha's not too badly off I hope that he'd have learnt his lesson, and MIL and/or SIL along with him! So where does that leave poor Ricky? He's an outcast where SIL's concerned; I suspect that she never welcomed his presence in the first place, finding him a competitor with Mocha for MIL's grant of a PR status in her house, and the feeling's mutual where Ricky's concerned - he bit her that first night he was sent to MIL's although he's never demonstrated anything but affection towards Gravitas and I. So we're bracing ourselves for the phonecall demanding that we take him away and hoping that it will never come..
