Fratenizing Felines Part 3 - Pandemonium

Cory really wanted to come out again last night. When I went into the quarantine room to give him his supper, he dashed out and resumed his inspection of the area near the balcony.

Earlier in the evening, there had been rounds of mutual inspection. I had let Cory out and whilst Ginger looked on like a proud (or was it wary?) houseowner, he'd inspected the kitty apartments thus:

Cory then reciprocated by looking on as Ginger and Pepa inspected his quarantine room:

Everything seemed hunky-dory, and remembering what the experts said, I tried to keep the encounters short and sweet. Then they were fed their dinners and Cory was shut in the quarantine room. (Although I suspect that he would have preferred to stay out.)

At supper time, he dashed out and after inspecting aforementioned area, he decided to seat himself behind the curtains. Now, Ginger has been following him around, settling himself nearby when Cory was inspecting someting and waiting paitiently. You see, Ginger thought he'd found himself a new playmate. After Cory had been behind the curtain for sometime, we decided to usher him out. We were going to retire for the day and wanted to be sure that the Meows are safely in their quarters before we do so.

As Cory was being ushered out, he encountered Ginger who had assumed his Invitation-to-Play pose, that is, on his back, paws stretched out to bat. As Cory passed by, Ginger batted at him (this is how he plays with Pepa) and I suppose Cory mistook the gesture because before we knew it, there was yowling and marmalade lightning streaking through the living room to the safety of the kitty apartments with another blurr of orange fur in hot pursuit. It was pandemonium with everybody and everyfurry (Pepa and Saffron somehow ended up as collateral damage) in a panic.

I grabbed my aluminium can rattle and shook it, sending Cory running back to the familiar security of his quarantine room. Good grief. Back to the drawing board. Fortunately no physical injuries seem to have been inflicted although the participants seem rather shaken. We offered each of them a toy (two, in Cory's case) heavily doused with catnip and confined them to their respective quarters. An inspection a little while later revealed that the cats were in Lalaland.

due to space constraints, we've had to go high-rise! does the top bunk (a.k.a the penthouse) look familiar? i've also cleverly edited out the most messy parts ;)
