Afternoon Thunderstorm
Soon after the arrival of the two new meows, Pepa started acting bulimic. She'd gobble up her food and then vomit it back out. The internet says that it's a sign of stress as her territory is being invaded by newcomers. In order to make up for it, the internet says, we are supposed to pay special attention to her and fuss over her more than usual. So, I've been bringing her into the (supposedly) Cat Exclusion Zone (our bedroom) for some Quality Time during the prolonged kitty siesta. She'd snuggle with me on the bed and sleep between my legs or in the crook of my knees (cats like to do that, somehow) and has been calmer lately.
Yesterday afternoon, I brought her into the CEZ as usual, and she had her siesta as I read a book. A thunderstorm started. After a while, I heard an "aaau, aaau" outside the bedroom door. I opened the door, and in walked Ginger. I settled down again to continue my book. Before long, I heard a "wau, wau, wau." I opened the door again and in hopped Saffron. I suppose the expression 'copy cats' is not wholly without merit..
