Ordeal by Ear Drops - The Verdict
Would you believe that cats can squeeze their ears shut? Fortunately since the ears are only skin and cartilage they can't clamp it as tightly as their mouths (and they can clamp their mouths pretty tight as anyone who's ever tried feeding an uncooperative cat a pill can attest).
Pepa's the most obliging cat, the sweetie. She just allows us to squeeze in the ear drops and massage her ear canals without any protest. Ginger tries to shut his ear but has learnt that resistance is futile. Saffron meows in protest and tries to squeeze his ears flaps as tightly shut as possible and then keeps them shut as he shakes his head to get rid of the damp feeling of the ear drops. Cory, as usual, is the most challenging. Not only does he squeeze shut his ears, he also shakes his head vigourously as soon as the drops touch down and we hope they'll still be effective!
