Home Safe and Sound

Cory's home from the vet at last, sans bebola and looking a little the worse for wear. He's also lost some weight. He didn't eat yesterday because of the pre-surgery fast and although he tried to eat post surgery, he apparently hadn't fully recovered from the anaesthesia and it came back up again. He refused his breakfast of kibbles this morning.

When I brought Cory back to his old quarantine room, he made a tour, sniffing and I believe inspecting the familiar objects before settling down to have a hearty snack. Cats won't eat when they're feeling distressed so that was a good sign. He then stretched out for a prolonged brushing session, even rolling over for me to brush his tummy. After that was a trip to the loo and he's now curled up for his siesta in a sunny spot.

The only damper is that now Saffron needs to be at the vet. He's been very naughty lately, ambushing Pepa and I saw him trying to bite her on her shoulder. That means his snip-snip probably shouldn't wait anymore. He needs to be kept for observation for a while first because his runny bottom's started up again and we can't determine the source of the problem.

We also have new neighbours. They started renovating their apartment today and the sound of the jackhammer the contractor is employing is reveberating through our unit, causing Ginger and Pepa some distress. Cory, being a street cat, or possibly exhausted, is sleeping through it.

It's great to have Cory back :)) The next aim is to have the four Spice Meows under one roof again.
